I am due Nov. 26th.

I am usually really un- fancy with my blog, but who doesn't love pink once in awhile?

Random things that have been on my mind

If I have learned one thing while being pregnant its that Rhett and I are surrounded by people we love who are willing to help us no matter what we need. When I think about all the gifts we have received and how much concern and love people have shown for us I get totally overwhelmed. We are ready for baby to come and we have not had to buy hardly a thing. We have received loads of hand me downs and gifts, several of them from people I know are scrimping and saving just as much as we are. I was thrown 2 showers where I was reminded just how much of a blessing other people really are in our lives.

The Fam Shower at Nikkols

Something else that has been on my mind: Sometimes men don't get enough credit in this world. I think men are often made out as hard and tough and stupid... I am not sure where this stereotype came from. I can't count how many times over the past few months some guy has carried my groceries for me, gotten something down off of a high shelf at Wal Mart, rushed ahead of me to open my door, or gave up their seat for me when I was standing. Just today I was at the library and the guy in the front of the line insisted that I go ahead of him. I suppose I have been reminded of the power of a small kind deed when someone needs it. I am going to try to be more like the people I have met who have helped me even though they don't know a thing about me.

So Thank you to all the family and friends for taking care of us, and thank you strangers as well.

Ugly Baby

This week Rhett and I have both had several dreams that our baby is ugly. Not just an un- attractive baby, but a really really ugly baby with some sort of weird trait. I had a dream that she was born and she had a crows nest... you know, bald on top and then lots of hair around the sides, like an elderly man. She had long shoulder length stringy hair and the top was completely bald. I also had another dream that her whole body was hairy. Sorta like this:

Poor kid.  Rhett dreamed that her eyes were too far apart, almost on the side of her head.  I really love our little gal and I hope if her eyes are on the side of her head I would be OK with that.
I dont want to be shallow. I know there are more important things to worry about.  But seriously... what if she is really ugly?

Belly Pics

An update on our Summer and for your
viewing pleasure...

June - 4 months along. Vegas, lots of walking and Nick graduated from High School.

July - 5 months along. Really hot, Shelby came to stay for awhile.

August - 6 months along. Lagoon. Thank heaven for popsicles.

September - 7 months along. Rhett and I just celebrated our 5 year anniversary!

Holy Moley! I blew up all at once. Things are going great, we have had a great summer and I have been feeling really good. I am at 29 weeks right now, 11 weeks to go! It has gone pretty fast. Sometimes I think I am ready for her to come and other times I feel like I am not prepared at all. Anyone have any recommended reading on newborns??

Today I had green beans for lunch. (It was actually a snack after my already huge lunch.) They were gross gross gross. I am really trying to make a healthy baby. The problem is that all my baby wants is Ramen Noodles and Little Caesars crazy bread.  Actually, I am not attributing my cravings to pregnancy. I am one of those people that is always craving something.  Before I was pregnant I used to crave things like a baked potato or fruit or whole wheat Triscuts.  Lately all I want is junk food, with the exception of a Fredrico's salad that is totally out of reach. Unfortunately it is Peanut Butter Captain Crunch that calls my name every morning from my bed, instead of the more "pregnancy appropriate" choice, Oatmeal.

At least I am over the disgusting gagging phase. I can watch the Food Network again. It used to be that if I saw a food I didn't want, even just in a commercial, I would have to hold down the vomit. WEIRD. Poor Rhett, he has a hard time eating dinner when I dry heaved while cooking it.

We made our first big purchase a few days ago. This vintage high chair at Home Again (a little consignment shop in Sugar House)  was too pretty to resist.
My sister is pretty cute too.

Visitors

I took some pics of Wesli while she was here. I am attaching them because they are the only pics I have of their stay. (Rhett took my camera.)

Isn't she so cute?

Pic tag

Thanks Jenny, for tagging me! I have been looking for an excuse to blog and trying to find something to write about.  Here is my 4th photo in my 4th folder in my 2007 pictures:

This is an evening at the Lewis household. Rhett and his brothers decided to burn this old couch that nobody wanted. As if that wasn't fun enough, they had to have a contest to see who could sit on the couch the longest while it was burning.  Here are a few more photos, since I know you are all DYING to know what man beat his competitors and came out on top.

If I remember correctly Rhett won. I'm so proud of my man.  Congratulations Honey, on your big accomplishment.
